Horten Ho 9/Ho 229: Retrospective
Horten brothers biographer David Myhra continues his efforts for a full accounting of the events surrounding the design, construction, and flight testing of the twin turbojet powered all-wing prototype Horten Ho 9 fighter/interceptor and its serial production prototype the Horten Ho 229V3. Throughout the 1980s Myhra located and interviewed numerous former Horten Flugzeugbau members seeking to better understand how the Horten Ho IX came to be Ð its construction delays, flight testing, and the loss of test pilot Erwin Ziller in December 1944. Word for word interviews make up this volume and often the details given by one former worker differs from another leading to more questions than answers.
