This book traces the evolution of the tank, together with its proliferating series of armoured relatives from its primitive state in WW1 via the mass-produced and reliable types that were decisive in the land warfare in WW2, to the current generation of battle tanks, mechanised infantry fighting vehicles and armoured personel carriers that played so decisive a part in the 1991 UN-led war to drive the Iraqi invaders out of Kuwait.
