Lancaster Down
Tells the incredible story of seven young airmen at war - the Lancaster crew in 405 RCAF Sqn, made up of British and Canadians. They were one of the legions of RAF bomber crews that took the offensive against Germany for most of the war. This book traces their preparations, air combat and each of their fates. It stands as a fitting testament to the courage of those seven young airmen and countless crews like them. The grandfather of the author was a pilot in the squadron. The story of this crew, from 1942 onwards, is so special because, collectively, they experienced everything possible: dangerous flights, the crash, imprisonment and death.
