The Lawless Caymans A Story of Slavery Freedom and The West India Regiment
The Lawless Caymans A Story of Slavery Freedom and The West India Regiment

The West India Regiments had their foundations in the South Carolina Corps during the American War of Indepencence. Following the defeat at Yorktown, the Corps was despatched to Jamaica and eventually their remnants as Pioneers and Artificers languished in the Eastern Caribbean. Although the Core of this tale is of the Caymanas, it has placed the Islands in the context of the Caribbean at large through the history of a special West Indian Regiment and its trials and tribulations in peace and war.
