Armored HEMTT Armored Variants of the US Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck

 

Despite their overall success and high reputation within the U.S. Army the HEMTT tactical trucks showed on international missions from 1996 the lack of armor protection for the crews. This situation became critical after the 2003 Operation Iraqi Freedom had been launched. This publication describes the Armored HEMTT trucks comprehensively in photographs and text, thus closing an important gap in literature on this vehicle family.
