West Wall: The Battle For Hitler's Siegfried Line
An account of the battle for the Siegfried Line in the final year of World War II. Hitler's line of fortificatons was dismissed by supporters and critics alike as a "white elephant", but turned out to be Germany's last line of defence, with the battle raging for six, long, bloody months along a front of 350 miles and at the cost of over a quarter of a million British, American, Canadian and French casualties. Until now, it has never been recognised as a single cohesive battle, yet it was the key battle of the entire war in the west.
