In May 1941, the German Army commissioned the design of a new medium tank, with the protype to be ready for trials on Hitler's birthday. The companies choseern were Porsche (VK4501PO) and Henschel (VK4501H). Henschel model was far superior and was subsequently selected for production. This book covers the Tiger 1 and King Tiger as well as their variants, Sturmtiger, Jagdtiger etc. It covers the design, development, history and technical features of each vehicle. There are plenty of large archive photographs and some pictures of the interior of the recently restored Bovington Tiger as well as two colour pages. There are also six pages of colour illustrations of the divisional markings and insignia.
