Panzerkorps Grossdeutschland
Photo history of one of the most elite fighting units in WWII by one of its former members. Includes listing of Knight's Cross Winners.
This Corps was one of the elite German formations, consisting of the Grossdeutschland, Brandenburg and Kurmark Panzer Grenadier Divisions as well as the Fuhrer Grenadier and Fuhrer Begleit Divisions. This is a very good pictorial history with excellent photography, the text consists mainly in the comments that accompany each picture with brief historical notes. Thus we learn that the 'Grossdeutschland Panzergrenadier Division suffered just under 17,000 casualties between 15th January and 29th March 1945. The final section is the roll of holders of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross with portrait photos of most of them and the citations.
