This book discusses the home defence of the United Kingdom during World War II. The central part of the book is devoted to the German invasion plan (Operation 'Sealion), the problems it posed for the War Cabinet, the Chiefs of Staff and the Commanders-in-Chief of the Home Fleet, Home Forces and Fighter Command. The author also pays special attention to the origin and evolution of both weapons, and access to new material. Included are illustrations and maps. In the back of the book is a full color map of the British Isles.
